Normalcy breeds Lunacy

Stuck in this crippling path. When I wish to be free Even if people mock my goals or laugh. Why strive for normalcy? When almost everyone is miserable In their lives Some would even have bitter end. With a piercing knife   Why strive for fame? When people lie and Love to play mind games? We live in a world where Kindness is seen as trait to flee. But I rather have that than straight up lunacy   There are days Where I rather be dead Then live in constant dread What kind of life is this? Nothing great Just another time to survive the flaming abyss   Lying to others is rewarded But telling the truth leads to Being scolded This is wonderful news For the liars and deceivers Watchout They are threatened by the Over-achievers

The cost of being yourself

The cost of being free Written by Amira Rose   “Freak!” one male kid spat, kicking another one on the ground. Causing the other bullied to roar in laughter. The injured boy opened his mouth but was unable to speak. He could only whimper to the nearest corner, hoping the pain would stop sooner than later while eyes closed. “You’re nothing but a joke, you know that?” The bully continued.  “Nothing!” He screeched before striking the final blow to his stomach. This caused the poor boy to groan and cough in immense pain. His face was getting more crimson by the second and tears started to run down his face. All the bullied laughed, before leaving the injured boy in the corner. This reality has dawned on him the cost of being himself would lead to being persecuted. By now, the poor injured boy was covered in dirt for being on the floor for over thirty minutes. To think no one from school came to his aid, only cemented his hatred towards school. Why is no one helping? What did he do ...

Cluttered Young Woman - Artwork by Amira Rose

Cluttered Young Maiden Artwork by Amira Rose Description: This artwork is inspired by Cubism; an art style that consists of shapes, lines and understand the concept of 2D painting. The painting conveys a message of confusion, and not knowing the woman's role in society. For centuries, women have been pressure to look a certain way, how to behave and are rarely given the autonomy to decide what to do with their own bodies.  Sociey places a lot of pressure on young women and wonder why some struggle with mental health problems. I have painted this a decade ago, when I was only 17 years old.  This converys a deep desperation of expressing herself through authenticity.
